Augustine briefed us to do new designs and CI for their SS 2012/2013 range. They’re a very exciting brand for us to work with because they insist on pushing for something fresh and new with regard to the garments and prints they create, as opposed to just applying international fashion trends. In this instance, we combined push sport, collegiate & floral trends using only local fauna and flora with vintage sport apparel always centered around a badge created using their existing logo. The idea started with creating (and then building in 3D) real crests (combination of floral, sport and animal as crests do) and also starting to incorporate local and vernacular war cries in different languages. This brand is doing big things in the menswear arena and are a definite one to keep an eye out for. Speaking of keeping an eye out- we designed their website which is currently under construction but coming very soon.

Yesterday we spent some time Centurion with Lingo of Halftone finishing our Ghandi prints, a commission from the Gold exhibition of a while back.

Kasi Sailor is our second design for  Galebowe and Wandile at Thesis. The brief was the Kasi Sailor. Where sailor meets Township. PirateSwag. The first of the designs have launched and are for sale At thesis right now, the second ones to launch soon, keep an eye out. Right now were working on the next round For Winter 2013, but for know that theme is a secret.

We haven’t ever really had an office. Maybe because in the beginning we couldn’t afford it, but now it’s mostly because we can’t sit still for too long. We work wherever we can sit for a while and sometimes we don’t even see each other days. Which means a lot of work happens on Whatsapp and skype. We’ve been meaning to post some pics from our days wandering coffee shops, houses, basements, Capetown, braamfontein and some pictures from our screens.

This year for the Loeries we entered some work and had 5 finalists. Unfortunately none of which converted into any metal or craft certificate of any form. We cried a little bit, but then we re-adjusted and kept on getting miraculously drunk in the real spirit of the Loeries. We did however make it onto the GQ Loerie style page.
